Members of the Karnes City Rotary Club and volunteers are busy making plans for what is shaping up to be another great Lonesome Dove Fest!
Except for the Lonesome Dove Fest Parade which will happen Saturday, Sept. 23 in downtown Karnes City, all the Lonesome Dove Fest events will take place at the Karnes County Youth Show Barn Grounds on U.S. Highway 181 between Karnes City and Kenedy near Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital.
Admission is free and open to the public to Lonesome Dove Fest Friday and Saturday, Sept. 22-23.
For the past 25 years, the club has hosted the event that welcomes dove hunting season to the south zone in South Texas, and welcomes visitors to Karnes County for food, fun, friendly competition and entertainment.
The annual event is the main fundraiser for the club who use funds raised at the event for youth scholarships for all four Karnes County high school graduates and many other service efforts for the community.
Visit lonesomedovefest.com for more information, or Facebook.com/LonesomeDoveFest, or call Co-Chairmen Wade Hedtke, 830-583-6330 or Randy Witte at 830-780-3314.
It is through the community support of Lonesome Dove Fest each year that allows the Karnes City Rotary Club to fund scholarships for Karnes County high school students and contribute to many more worthwhile community efforts. The annual event happens at the Karnes County Youth Show Barn Grounds on U.S. Highway 181 between Karnes City and Kenedy just north of Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital.
